A school bus driver in Radford faces charges after the bus struck a car.

Virginia State Police Sgt. Rob Carpentieri says 33-year-old Judy Meyer of Radford was charged Wednesday with following too closely.

Carpentieri says the driver of the car, 33-year-old Angela Dean of Durbin, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to New River Medical Center. None of the 55 students in the bus was injured.

The accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on Peppers Ferry Road in Radford. Carpentieri says the bus hit the back of the car as traffic slowed.
