The Harrisonburg City Council will meet Tuesday to review the proposal from Rosetta Stone.

The language training software company is offering the city $300,000 for the old Harrisonburg Police Department building.

The company promised to invest $500,000 in renovations and create at least 100 new jobs.

Harrisonburg Economic Development Director Brian Shull says, "It's a wonderful opportunity for the city to help an existing firm continue grow and expand. It's great jobs. It's an opportunity for us to continue to expand our technology awareness here and great jobs for local students."

According to the proposal, these new jobs will pay an average of $50,000.

The second reading of the proposal and final vote will take place January 27. If approved, Rosetta Stone hopes to open their new location this spring.
