A local organization is hoping to build the economy of Waynesboro by taking an honest look at the city.

The Waynesboro Economic Development Authority addressed some of the city's pros and cons during a meeting Friday. Chairman Carl Rosberg says the meeting was all about being proactive.

The authority says transportation is Waynesboro's greatest strength, due to having both interstates and two railroads available to residents, while a weakness is a lack of property into which additional businesses can move.

Rosberg says the group sees opportunity in the quality of labor in the region, but considers larger employers somewhat threatening, as they could make decisions that would greatly effect Waynesboro's economy.
