A four-year-old Southampton County boy has died after being run over by a school bus.

Jameer Khamarie Woodley was a prekindergarten student at Riverdale Elementary School near Courtland, where the accident occurred Friday. His mother, LaKisha Woodley, teaches first grade at the school.

She and the boy's father, Tim Woodley, say Jameer loved sports and knew how to operate the DVD player and VCR. Tim Woodley described Jameer as "energetic."

It's unclear exactly how the accident occurred. The school and the sheriff's office released no details, and a dispatcher at the sheriff's office said nobody was available to discuss the incident Sunday.

What a sad thing to happen. But you know instead of worrying about the kid's family and friends, the first thing people will do is start a fire storm about bus safety and who's to blame.

A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
