The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office is asking for your help to solve a series of breaking and entering incidents that happened just after the New Year.

Police say eight separate residences were broken into and ransacked between January 1 and 3.

The break-ins took place during the day, almost exclusively in the west to northwest Mount Clinton Pike to Singers Glen area of Rockingham County.

No one was home at the time in any of the eight residences.

The suspects reportedly stole guns, laptop computers, bicentennial and buffalo coins. Three Turner Ashby High School class rings were also stolen from three separate houses.

Residents of Mount Clinton Pike say they are keeping a closer eye on the neighborhood now.

"We're being a lot more careful to make sure that the doors are locked and keeping an eye out for any strange people or cars that are on the street," says Greg Baker.

If you do have any information concerning these break-ins you are encouraged to call crime solvers at 540-574-5050.
