A Broadway truck driver hauling frozen chicken along Interstate 64 early Monday morning was involved in a messy wreck. The crash was still being cleaned up into Monday evening.
Carter Fulk's tractor trailer ran off the road, hit an embankment and overturned. Frozen chicken spilled out all over the median.
Fulk was treated at VCU Medical Center for minor injuries and charged with reckless driving.
Fulk, who was carrying thousands of pounds of poultry, told police he swerved to miss an animal in the road.
State police deemed only 300 pounds of the chicken safe to eat and it was given to a charity.
