Three localities in western and southwest Virginia will share more than $2.3 million in Virginia Community Development Block Grant funds.
Gov. Tim Kaine announced Tuesday that the federal money will go to four projects in Altavista, Saltville and Richlands.
He says in addition to renovating homes, the funds will be used to revitalize downtown Altavista and renovate a dental clinic in Saltville.
Virginia receives up to $19 million annually that it distributes to smaller localities that do not get federal block grant funds directly.
