One man is in custody this evening after a standoff with police.
A man identified as Gary Combs allegedly locked himself in his apartment - threatening harm to himself and police. When police arrived they began evacuating some of resident of the building.
"I know that when I came here I didn't know what floor he lived on," said James Ault, a relative of one of the building's residents. "So I was checking around and they told me to stay off and nobody's allowed up or down and no one is allowed to go on the second floor."
Police say they attempted to negotiate with Combs over the phone. The attempt failed.
And, after two hours the SWAT team was sent in to get him.
No one was injured. Combs is currently in police custody. The police department is still looking into the situation.
Some residents suspect there was a domestic dispute that caused the incident. But no matter what the cause, Wednesday morning's event has scared some who live in the building.
"Personally I think I am going to leave," said resident Billy Borror. "I mean I feel unsafe, you know?"
People who witnessed the stand off felt police handled the situation safely and effectively.
