After killing a bill to require background checks on most buyers at gun shows, the Senate has voted to reconsider the bill another day.
On an 18-22 vote, the Senate rejected legislation to close the so-called "gun-show loophole," where private sellers at the public events are not required to conduct the background checks that licensed dealers must perform.
After the vote was taken, a senator who voted against the bill asked that it be reconsidered. Then the bills's sponsor asked that it be considered at a later day.
The bill would require all buyers, except those who already have a permit to carry a concealed weapon or those purchasing antique guns, to undergo a background check.
