A former James Madison National Championship football player is back in Rockingham County facing nine criminal charges.

A former James Madison National Championship football player is back in Rockingham County facing nine criminal charges.

Michael Brown was extradited to Rockingham County Jail Wednesday night while in police custody in Iowa, where he recently received a ten year sentence for breaking and entering.

Police say Brown and teammate Brad Davis robbed a Valley's Exxon store at gunpoint in June 2006.

Brown is also accused of robbing Harrisonburg's TJ Maxx in September of the same year. He faces additional charges of robbing La Tienda Raquel, a small convenience and grocery store.

The former football player is scheduled tol be back in court in two weeks with his newly appointed attorney.

His alleged accomplice, Davis, faces two counts of robbery.
