The walls are up. The windows are in. And the siding is on! Progress on the TV-3 Habitat for Humanity house is going on at amazing speed!
Thursday, volunteers from Alcoa Home Exteriors in Stuarts Draft fitted the home with brand new siding.
Alcoa employees donated their time to help turn this "house" into a "home" for the Barnack family. Ty Scopel, of Alcoa, commented, "I feel really good contributing to the community. It's very important to me that Alcoa is a good neighbor. And I feel very strongly about corporate citizenship."
There's still so much more that needs to be done. And you can help. We're still selling our "Taste of the Valley" Cookbooks. You can find more than 240 recipes from TV-3 viewers, Taste of the Valley chefs, and employees of the station. The cookbook is $15 plus $3 for shipping and handling. You can order by calling 1-888-812-3602. Or you can pick up at copy at the Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity Office in Staunton. Make your check out to the SAW Habitat for Humanity TV-3 House. Keys to the house will be given to the Barnack family Oct. 19.
