A misdemeanor charge has been dropped against the adoptive mother of a 13-year-old girl found dead in a creek last month, but prosecutors say more charges against the woman are "likely."

Prince William County Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert said the charge against 44-year-old Alfreedia Gregg-Glover was dropped Thursday.

Glover was charged with making a false police report after she told authorities that her daughter, Alexis "Lexie" Glover, ran away January 7. However, police say Gregg-Glover had placed her in a creek.

Glover's attorney says another charge, felony neglect, was dropped Wednesday in Prince William County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
