A West Virginia man is going to federal prison for 18 months for his role in an interstate theft ring that targeted heavy equipment.

U.S. District Judge Chuck Chambers sentenced 50-year-old David Lee Eslick of Fort Gay on Monday. Eslick had pleaded guilty in November to aiding and abetting interstate transportation of motor vehicles.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Eslick was involved in the theft and transportation of more than $300,000 worth of heavy equipment.

While about two-thirds of the equipment has been recovered, Chambers ordered Eslick to pay restitution for equipment that wasn't found.
