Three people involved in a two-year drug and gang investigation in Harrisonburg had their day in court Tuesday.

The cases against Rafael Jimenez, Clinton Martin, and Chet McDonaldson took place Tuesday morning, and two of the cases have been continued until later this month.

Martin faces 46 crimes related to gang activity, drugs and firearm use, while McDonaldson faces drug-related charges. The cases against Martin and McDonaldson have been continued to March 17 at 9 a.m.

Jimenez faces attempted murder and gang-related charges.

Police say Jimenez and Martin are convicted felons. Commonwealth's Attorney Marsha Garst has said these are significant arrests in the area, because the people of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County are seeing more violent crime associated with drugs and gang activity.

Harmonie Alger was also arrested in the investigation, and her case has been continued to March 25 at 2 p.m.

As of Noon, no decision had yet been made with regards to the case against Jimenez.
