There are some workers who must brave Mother Nature despite the snow and frigid temperatures.
Construction workers in downtown Harrisonburg say the snow doesn't necessarily keep them from getting their jobs done, but it does slow things down a bit.
Masons aren't able to lay bricks in freezing temperatures because of the composition of the materials.
Cold weather also means workers have to scrape ice and snow before they can work.
"It just comes with the territory. You've got to work in the cold in this part of the country. It's a matter of working faster, putting more clothes on, and maybe just growing a beard, anything it takes," says Urban Exchange Construction Manager Troy Gerber.
The construction project is continuing despite the challenges. Still, some crews simply couldn't make it to the site because of the weather.
