A boil water advisory in Pendleton County has been lifted.

The advisory was issued Tuesday following a malfunction at a water treatment plant that allowed contaminated water into the water supply.

People living in Franklin and areas three miles north were under the advisory.

Franklin Elementary, Pendleton County Middle and Pendleton County High schools were all closed Wednesday, but they will be back open Thursday.
