The Warren County Sheriff's Office arrested a Middletown man Sunday following a car chase that ended when the man wrecked the SUV he was driving.
Twenty-one-year-old Robert B. Lockhart is charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license, child endangerment and felony eluding. Deputies say Lockhart attempted to run away while they were trying to test his alcohol level, so he also faces a charge of attempted escape.
Deputies say they got a call about a blue SUV driving through a yard on Guard Hill Road.
The responding deputy spotted the SUV while on his way to the scene and turned to follow it. The SUV failed to stop and the deputy chased it from North Royal to Mary Shady Lane where Lockhart crashed.
A female passenger in Lockhart's car faces a charge of underage possession of alcohol and was turned over to her parents.
