It may be a little bit harder to make your way around downtown Staunton for the next couple of weeks.

There will be road work taking place to repair crosswalks at the intersection of Fredrick and Augusta streets from March 16 to March 27.

Roads around the intersection were closed Monday and Tuesday. There will also be partial closures throughout the rest of the week and up to the end of the month.

Some store owners in the area say it's going to have a negative impact on business.

George Goodloe from Rask Florists says, "Obviously it's a going to make a little bit of a dent in the business as far as people coming in, but on the other hand, they're being very nice and cooperative about our trucks getting in and out."

WHSV Poll
A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
