It's another potential case of animal cruelty in Page County. Stanley resident John Verrace says his neighbor shot his dog and left him to die.
Verrace claims he went looking for his dog Friday, when he heard a gunshot. His neighbor, Charles Mills, admitted to shooting a dog. Page County Sheriff Deputies later found the dog on Mills' property, dead.
Verrace is angry, and says that his neighbor's actions were completely unjustified. "I'm at a loss. I don't know why. In fact, I asked the magistrate, 'Did he say why he did it?' I think it's absolute sadistic cruelty," Verrace told TV-3.
The Page County Sheriff's Office confirmed that they did execute an arrest warrant on Charles Mills.
