State Senator Kevin Miller says he will leave knowing he has done a good job.

"I'm very pleased with the accomplishments I have made," said Senator Miller.

Kevin Miller has spent almost the last 20 years in the Virginia State Senate working for the people in the 26th District. He's currently the chairman of two committees, but he says he never expected to be where he is now.

"Good heavens, in 1983 I would have never dreamed that I would have even be around this long," said Miller.

Miller says he has not had an opportunity to reflect on his career and the legislation he help put in, but there is one thing that currently stands out to him.

"We're finally getting some transportation projects approved locally, said Miller. "Harrisonburg and Rockingham areas went for many many years just kind of taking a back seat to areas North and South of us.

Miller says he is very aware of the interest in his seat and he has talked to a couple of the candidates, but at this point he does not want to endorse anyone.

"When I announced and even before I announced I said that I would not be endorsing any candidates until after the nominating process, said Miller.

Miller says in his retirement he will do a little fishing and golf, but he will not take his eyes off what is going on in the Senate.
