There's more detailed information about the woman found along the Shenandoah River and her gang ties. It appears that with her death, investigators may have lost a vital link to Virginia's growing gang problem.
The body of 18-year-old Brenda Paz was found along the river back in July. A report, Sunday, said the woman was an important informant, assisting police in several states.
Those police were investigating the violent gang known as MS-13. The
Washington Post reports that Paz was assisting detectives in Northern Virginia, Texas, and other states with stabbings, shootings, and armed robberies. The paper says he information was crucial to more than a half dozen investigations, including a federal probe.
