Albemarle County officials are investigating two more sites in the area where a large illegal dump was found.

County spokeswoman Lee Catlin says county officials believe at least one of the new suspected dump sites is on property owned by Crown Orchard.

Last week, the county cited Crown Orchard owner Henry Chiles for an illegal dump covering nearly an acre on his property near Batesville where appliances, tires and other trash was piled up to eight feet high.

Catlin says county investigators visited one of the new sites and reported that it appears to be smaller. She didn't provide any details. The third site hasn't been visited yet.

Chiles had said he was unaware of any illegal dumping on his property.
