Virginia Senate Race

Virginia's Senate candidates Jim Webb, and Senator George Allen were active this weekend trying to gain support for the upcoming election.

Senator George Allen is campaigning among black voters. Allen visited the campus of historically black Virginia Union University in Richmond this weekend.

The former UVA football player swapped stories about politics, football, and mingled with tailgating fans at the Gold Bowl football game.

Allen has faced renewed accusations from former college teammates that he freely used racist language in the early 1970s.

Allen has denied the claims.

Democrat Jim Webb says the upcoming election is a choice between those who have power and those who will stand up to power.

Those comments came at a state NAACP forum in Hampton.

Both Webb and Allen appeared separately at the forum.
