The owner of a company that announced it had acquired the rights to The Greenbrier says he plans to build a casino now that legislation has been signed to regulate gambling at the resort.

Justice Family Group owner Jim Justice told The Charleston Gazette on Monday the casino would cost $15 million to $20 million and could be completed by December.

Gov. Joe Manchin signed legislation Friday that would regulate gambling at The Greenbrier the same as the state's racetrack casinos.

The Greenbrier filed for bankruptcy in March. Last week, Justice announced his company had acquired rights to the resort, which is owned by CSX Corp.

However, Marriott International Inc. says it expects CSX to honor its contract to buy the resort.
