Friends of Murder Victim React to Plea Deal
Harrisonburg, Va. News 3 has received several comments about the plea deal of Zackary Turner, who is the alleged shooter in the Murder of Reginald "Shay" Nicholson.

News 3 has received several comments about the plea deal of Zackary Turner, who is the alleged shooter in the Murder of Reginald "Shay" Nicholson.
A friend of Shay's, Jerri, says she is frustrated about the plea agreement.
In a comment posted on WHSV.com, she writes, "That means he will get out of jail when he is 48 years old. At 48 years old he can still get a wife, have kids, and get married which are things that he stole from Shay."
Another friend named Cindy writes, "They shouldn't allow him to plead out. Only 30 years? I think if they would have gone to trial he would have been guilty, I mean he murdered someone for no reason.Then he would be looking at life."
Rajah writes, "It just doesn't make much sense to me for someone to be so quick to want to shoot somebody. It's an epidemic that needs a harsher penalty if it's not in defense of yourself."

I have never heard of anyone getting 30 years for a speeding ticket, thats the worst comparison ive ever read. Yes he killed someone, but he is 18 years old, do yall think he has time to change and become a better person? hopefully he can, and help black teens stop fightin each other when he gets out of jail and show kids how carrying a gun is the worst decision ever! I do hate the fact Shay died he seems like the greatest guy, its a shame this has to happen. Blacks stop fighting blacks! We will get no where like this, just more young black males either dead or locked up, please realize, please.
this really saddens me to no end the dnr paper says one thing and the news says another. dnr you need to get your story right,because what you said was not right compared to what was on tv.that young coward got 30 yrs. with 28 suspended and 10 years probation.if that is the case then that chil would only serve 2 years for point blank killing that young man in cold blood.my children went to school with shay and i went to school with his mother and she raised a respecteable young man whose life was cut short for no reason.so what this is saying that you can kill someone in this town and get barely no time but if you get caught selling drugs you get more time, what is wrong with that picture?wake up people this is wrong in the so called commonwealth.something has got to change with the youth here instead of trying to close doors on programs like boys & girls clubs we has citizens and parents need to help our youth. someone needs to get a clue.
I agree with everyone else he should not be allowed to have a plea bargin . He took a life he should recieve the death penalty . Why should he be allowed to get out when hes 48 and have a life that the victum didnt get a chance to have . If he gets this bargin plea he might get out and take another innocent life .
