Deputies in Shenandoah County are reporting some stolen Civil War memorabilia in Edinburg. They say a dozen Civil War bullets and some wooden dice were taken from a home on Bells Lane in Edinburg. They were reported missing Sunday, along with some arrowheads.
Also in Shenandoah County, deputies report that a burglar cleaned out a home of nearly all its furniture. A pair of rocking chairs, a bed, a dresser, a rug and a refrigerator were reported stolen from a home on Lost Lane in Fort Valley over the weekend.
Staunton Police are also reporting a burglary. They say someone stole $170 in cash and jewelry from a home on Stafford Street last week.
A resident in Grottoes woke up Friday night, hearing noises in the backyard. In the morning, the homeowner discovered that his lawnmower had been stolen. It happened on Augusta Avenue.
Deputies in Augusta County report that a Jeep Cherokee was stolen from a home on Twin Hill Road in Stuarts Draft on Monday. Deputies say the Jeep was later found abandoned about a mile away on Churchmans Mill Road. A $150 speaker had been stolen. Deputies say the Jeep was left unlocked with the keys inside.
Harrisonburg Police report that someone stole a Pepsi vending machine. It was taken from Airey Volkswagen on Waterman Drive Tuesday night.
Waynesboro Police say someone broke into Hopeman Laundry on Tuesday afternoon and took less than $200 in cash and coins. The door of the business was pried open.
