Clarke County authorities say a man found dead in the town of Boyce may have been beaten to death with a heavy-duty plastic hammer.
Clarke County Sheriff Dale Gardner says investigators are awaiting forensic test results on the hammer that was found in the area near where the body of 57-year-old Frank Champion was found.
Authorities believe Champion was killed early Monday. An autopsy shows he died from injuries to the head, neck, and chest, and ruled his death a murder.
Clarke County Sheriff's deputies arrested 20-year-old Joseph Glascock on Monday and charged him with first-degree murder.
Investigators believe Champions body was dragged from a home in
Boyce dumped near railroad tracks that run through the town. Glascock is awaiting a bond hearing.
