A federal judge in Virginia has dismissed The Greenbrier's bankruptcy case.
In a ruling Tuesday in Richmond, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Huennekens dismissed the case after hearing from a financial officer for the West Virginia resort and its new owner, James Justice.
They said dismissing the case would benefit creditors, workers and the local community.
Justice recently purchased the resort for $20.1 million. But Bethesda, Maryland-based hotel chain Marriott International already had agreed to buy the property from Jacksonville, Florida-based railroad giant CSX Corp., and that agreement was awaiting approval as part of The Greenbrier's bankruptcy case.
