Waynesboro Police are searching for a stolen vehicle. A worker at Papa John's Pizza on North Poplar Avenue went into the restaurant to finish some paperwork late Tuesday night. During that time, the worker's red Jeep Cherokee was stolen.

The Jeep has Virginia license plate XSZ 8535. It also has a black and red stripe on the side and a Kawasaki Vulcan sticker. The vehicle is worth $5,000.

In Harrisonburg, thefts from vehicles are an ongoing issue. Police say some vehicles are easy targets. Items were stolen from four unlocked cars last Wednesday night along East Rock and East Wolfe streets. The stolen items include stereos, speakers, power tools and fishing equipment.

Deputies in Shenandoah County say someone stole a canoe by dragging it away from a home in New Market. The 14-foot canoe, worth $500, was taken from a home on Idle Hours Lane last week. It is the second canoe to be stolen from New Market in the past month.

Law enforcement agencies around the Valley are reporting thefts of laptop computers. They were stolen from Lumber Yard Lane in Augusta County, Lincoln Lane in Staunton and Montevideo Circle in Penn Laird, all last week.

Not far from where the laptop was stolen, deputies in Rockingham County are also reporting some vandalism at Montevideo Middle School. Deputies say someone spun their tires on the front lawn and the grassy area near the athletic fields on May 7. A portable toilet was also tipped over.

If you have any information about these cases, please call your local police department or sheriff's office.

WHSV Poll
A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
