It has been our amazing honor to have loved Andrew as one of our own for many years. He was an amazing child and grew to be an even more amazing young man. May ALL of his families - the Simmons, his step-mother, Dana and the Showker family; his sisters Ashley and Lindsay; his brothers Kyle & Caleb find comfort & peace knowing Drew is now with our dear Mark now. May Andrew's "infectious smile and spirit" give all of his friends & loved ones a sense of purpose in their own lives. Drew, your Aunt Nina & Uncle Scott will hold you in their hearts always. We love you.

Andrew was not just a kid who happened to pick up a gun at random. Anyon who knows the Simmons family know that nearly all of them are true outdoorsmen and experienced hunters. Andrew had been taught by the best and had been hunting for quite some time. To his Dad, uncles, cousins and family friends hunting was/is a way of life. What happened to Andrew is tragic.....a moment's distraction caused the loss of his beautiful life. This time it was a gun...tomorrow it may be a distraction caused by a cell phone, careless driving, you name it, it could happen. There are instances that occur each & every day in this country ie: a toddler drowning in a mop bucket, a bath-tub, a swimming pool.....all because of a brief moment's distraction. This teen-ager lost his life trying to do what he had been taught at a very young age. ALL of us, EACH and EVERY one need to focus on the moment and to be wary of distractions whether behind the wheel of a car, at the lake swimming and/fishing, or mor.

R.I.P. Andrew....I went to elementary school with Andrew K-12. Just like everybody has said he is one of the outragious kids you could ever meet. It didnt matter where or when you saw Andrew he always had a smile on his face. To me Andrew was one of those kids that knew what to get into and what not to get into. Andrew was the sweetest kid that i have ever met. He always was into something just like his mom said he was always out doing something either for church or school or just plain out hanging out with his friends. Andrew was a sweet kid and we will miss && love him forever. Andrew Wesley Simmons R.I.P we are all down here loving you. Your friend,,,,Katie Horn :[

Andrew was like a brother too me. Words can't explain how much I miss him. I'm just glad I got to see that smiling face Monday morning one more time. Andrew will always have a place in my heart. From church events to just hanging out at the movies, we always seemed to find something to laugh at. Just a couple Sundays ago we had to pass a paper around with a different person in the youth groups name on it and you had to put something nice on each. On mine he put that I always laugh at his jokes, even if they were stupid... but I got to thinking... it might not have been the joke I was laughing at, it was more of that smile he always had on his face that would make anybody smile! Youth group events just wont be the same anymore but I know he'll be with us in spirit. I love you Andrew and I'm glad we got to have such an awesome weekend!

I've grown up with Andrew and knew him most of my life. He was always playing a sport no matter what the wheather was. I was always at his house when I was younger. I've touch with him over the years now I'm going to miss that. I always looked forward to the Fort football games even though I played, but I would always see him after the game. Him and Ronnie was always together no matter what was going on. I was lucky enough to get to see him wrestle this year. He went up againist some good guys on Turner Ashby's wrestling team. He never worried about who he was up againist. No matter what sport he did his best and that is all he ever knew how to do. He was a great guy and I will surely miss him alot.

Children and guns are a bad combination. Hunter Education and Firearm Training help, but putting a gun in the hands of a child is always a poor choice.

I went to school with andrew. he always had a bright smile and was nice to everyone, it didnt matter who you were. It is truely a tragedy. You hear so many rumors at school, all that matters is we have him in our heart always. remember the good times.
