Two WV Counties Getting Money for Water System Upgrades

Water systems in Marshall and Roane counties will receive upgrades courtesy of federal economic stimulus money.

Water systems in Marshall and Roane counties will receive upgrades courtesy of federal economic stimulus money.

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced Thursday the funding of nearly $143 million for drinking water, wastewater and environmental projects in 21 states.

The city of Glen Dale will receive about $1.7 million to upgrade its water system. The Clover Public Service District in Spencer will receive $1.9 million to provide safe drinking water to 75 households that currently rely on wells or cisterns.
