A suspect in a home invasion that included a brutal beating of an elderly northeastern Pennsylvania couple has been arrested in eastern Europe and is to be arraigned Tuesday in Virginia.

The U.S. Marshals Service says 35-year-old Anthony Robert Cangiano was arrested in Montenegro, which is part of the former Yugoslavia. He was taken into custody Monday by U.S. Marshals at Dulles International Airport in northern Virginia and is being held there on a warrant from the November 2008 home invasion in Hazleton, Pennsylvania.

A 23-year-old man was already in custody for the attack on Nick and Martha Caputo, both 78 years old. They were hospitalized for several days.
