The Valley's newest Rotary Club is getting some attention by hosting its first summer carnival.

The Mount Jackson-Edinburg Rotary Fun-Fest kicked off Wednesday night with good food, fast rides and carnival games.

Dozens of residents came out, despite wet weather. Money raised from the event will go to the Rotary Club to help with its many programs.

"With Rotary being a new organization in town, we're hoping to really be able to give back to the community. To date we've done a flu shot drive and brought flu shots to the community," says Mount Jackson-Edinburg Rotary Club President Gerald Forsburg.

The Fun-Fest continues through Saturday in the Food Lion parking lot in Mount Jackson.
