A Winchester teen-ager was indicted on capital murder and five other felony counts in the slaying of a newlywed and the attempted killing of his wife.

Grand jurors returned the indictment against 15-year-old Matthew VanEmburgh.

Police say the teen broke into a Winchester home in March and killed Terry Presgraves. He is also accused of stabbing Candace Presgraves several times before police arrived and arrested him.

VanEmburgh was also indicted on charges of attempted murder and four other counts. NO trial date has been set. He is being held without bond.

VanEmburgh lives about a block from the Presgraves' home. He said he didn't know why he broke into their home. The Presgraves had been married 11 days before the murder.
