Visitors in Staunton got a chance to see the areas history, and took part in preserving it as well.

The Historic Staunton Foundation held their 34th Annual Christmas House Tour on Sunday.

The tour helps to raise money used to restore houses and learn about their history.

Visitors got to see the restored homes decorated for Christmas, often with antique furniture.

Volunteers say that Staunton is lucky to have so much to preserve.

"So many of the houses, although they have been used for different uses have been preserved, and now they're in the process of restoring them to their original majesty and beauty," says organizer Sally Mueller.

Organizers say they were pleased with this years turnout.
