With school out for the summer, the Augusta County Library is launching its summer reading games.

A local storyteller was at the Churchville Branch Library Tuesday evening to help motivate children.

Barbara Lawson provided singing and "Twisted Tales" stories as entertainment during an interactive performance.

At Churchville, students can also enter to win prizes with tickets exchanged for one hour of reading time.

Five-year-old Hunter Campbell attends Churchville Elementary School and says he wants to read a little every day in the summer.

He says, "I read a lot in kindergarten, and I learned a lot of words. I like to be in the program and win some of the prizes. I like to learn to read."

County schools will also be competing to win the first-ever Augusta County Reading Trophy, awarded to the school whose students read the most.

The reading games run until July 25. Other events at the Churchville Branch Library include a juggling, unicycle-riding musician July 14 and much more.
