Waynesboro has proposed a plan to remedy the city's problem of storm water flooding and the cost would be 18-million dollars over 10 years. City council is now considering how to pay for it.
Council members have reached a consensus on how homeowners would be billed. "If you're under 1500 square feet of roof space or impervious surface, that would be one rate. If you're between 1500 and 3000 that would be a different rate. If you're anything over 3000 that would be a higher rate," says Waynesboro City Councilman Frank Lucente.
Businesses and the city itself would also have to pay.
