A former football player for James Madison University is expected to plead guilty Friday to more than nine charges, including robbery.

Prosecutors say Michael Brown will plead guilty to avoid trial. They say he has not entered any sort of plea agreement.

Brown was extradited from Iowa earlier this year, where he was sentenced to ten years behind bars for breaking and entering.

Police say Brown and former teammate Bradley Davis robbed a Valley's Exxon store at gunpoint in June 2006 and Harrisonburg's T.J. Maxx store the next month.

Brown is also accused of robbing La Tienda Raquel, a small convenience and grocery store.
