A children's day camp in Kanawha County is voluntarily closing for the rest of the week after health officials confirmed three swine flu, or H1N1 influenza, cases.
Dr. Rahul Gupta with the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department said Wednesday that three girls attending the Tyler Mountain YMCA were infected with the H1N1 virus. Another 24 children and four staff members have flu-like symptoms.
Kanawha Valley YMCA President John Giroir says the camp will close Thursday and will be disinfected. It will reopen Monday.
Giroir says 141 children were registered for the program.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources says 135 cases of the H1N1 virus have been confirmed in West Virginia, including 13 involving out-of-state residents. There have been no deaths.
