His unexpected death has shocked the world, but even after his passing, Michael Jackson continues to do what he does best: selling record after record.
Hit after hit rocks out of the speakers at Crossroads music store in Staunton Friday. Manager Brenda Armentrout knew it was going to be a busy day.
Armentrout says, "I got here at 8:30 a.m. and the phone was already ringing. People were asking, 'What do you have in Michael Jackson?'"
With news of his passing, Valley residents rushed the store to get their fix of the "Man in the Mirror."
Within 30 minutes, Armentrout says her store was completely sold out.
She says, "It's sort of like when Elvis died. It was huge. And this is the younger generation's Elvis."
Staunton resident Cody Mitchem has been a life long fan of Jackson, and as his favorite song, "Thriller," appropriately plays in the background, he snags the last Jackson CD in the store.
Mitchem says, "That's exactly what is was. I was like might as well go and get the last CD that I'll ever get of his."
He says hearing the late star's music reminds him of his youth and that his latest Jackson CD purchase is one of many he's made throughout the years.
Mitchem adds, "It makes me feel kind of sad because there is going to be no more new songs by him. And the world just isn't going to be the same without him."
People at Crossroads are in the process of ordering more Jackson records. They say with the same trend going on across the country and it may take some time to get the discs in.
Armentrout says, "The labels are going to run out and it's going to be difficult to get for a while."
She adds it could take more than a week to get a new shipment of Jackson CD's back in the store.

Nothing was in the news or said on any television or radio program about Michael Jackson for as long as I can remember after the accusations he molested a child. Now he's dead, everyone has gone crazy. What's the big attraction after the man is dead. Why didn't all these "fans" purchase his music and support him while he was alive and struggling financially if he was so very special? People care more about the dead than they do the living, and this is SENSELESS!
Jackson was a child molesting, self-mutilating freak!
