Eight people suffered minor injuries in a fireworks accident in Winchester.
Winchester Fire Department Lieutenant Matt DeHaven says the accident happened in a fireworks display at a Winchester Park Wednesday night. About 20 minutes into the display, one of the fireworks exploded in its cylinder before being launched into the sky.
The blast caused other parts of the display to fall over and spread fireworks on the ground.
Lieutenant DeHaven says all of the injuries were minor. The mishap also damaged a little league baseball field at the park.
