Saturday's Valley Fourth celebration will take place on Harrisonburg's Court Square starting at noon and ending with a huge fireworks show around 10 p.m.

Lined with American flags, Court Square is awaiting the community to celebrate the meaning of July 4.

The Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance is expecting a big turnout for planned events, such as the reading of the Constitution at noon and dunking booths from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Valley Fourth parade is at 5 p.m. and Rockingham County Supervisor Pablo Cuevas will be a judge.

"I think the main thing is the celebration of freedom and the fact that it's not free. A lot of folks made a lot of sacrifices to make a fourth of July possible and I hope we will all take the opportunity to remember those who made the maximum sacrifice," says Cuevas.

Cuevas says he's grateful for the opportunity to serve as a judge.

Parking will be limited Saturday, so make sure you arrive early.
