The family of a seven-year-old boy is by his side at the University of Virginia Medical Center Tuesday after a fireplace collapsed on top of him and another boy Monday.
The boys from Weyers Cave were near a construction site on Fadley Road when the stone fireplace collapsed, dropping a piece weighing about 500 pounds on the boys.
Seven-year-old Luke Yoder was airlifted to the UVA Medical Center and is in critical condition. Rescue crews say he left the scene with critical head trauma and had life-threatening injuries.
The other boy, who's age is unknown at this time, broke his leg in the incident and is resting at home.
Several rescue teams responded, including Bridgewater Fire and Rescue, Weyers Cave Fire and Rescue and Rockingham County Fire and Rescue.

He wasn't playing at a construction site Sigh, the news reporters are giving false information. The news doesn't know exactly so they are just coming up with a story. It took place on their family property.
I hope he gets better, but he should have never been playing at a construction site.
Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.
