Nigerian Pipeline Explosion

The Nigerian Red Cross says that at least 200 people have been killed in a pipeline explosion. At least 60 others suffered burns.

Police in Lagos say thieves broke the line open. People then began siphoning off the oil, pouring it into buckets and bags.

Intense heat kept rescue workers back as smoke poured over a heavily populated neighborhood.

In May, more than 150 people died in a similar explosion.
Shortages in recent days have caused long lines at filling stations.
