Saddam's Sentence Upheld

An Iraqi court spokesman says former leader Saddam Hussein's death sentence was upheld by the Iraqi High Tribunal Appeals Court.

Iraq's chief judge, Aref Shaheen, says it will be carried out by January 27th.

Hussein was sentenced November 5th to death by hanging, for his role in the Dujail massacre.

His attorneys appealed and the appellate chamber began reviewing the case earlier this month.
