Page County residents are uniting in memory of 18-year-old Casey Amos, who died in a Monday car crash just south of the town of Shenandoah.

Family, friends and coaches say Amos was a hard-working athlete, who really excelled in the classroom.

Amos was headed to Bridgewater College in the fall on an academic scholarship.

He was also going to play football at the school.

Visitation takes place Wednesday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held Thursday at Page County High School at 11 a.m.

When we had our first game on Friday October 2nd, it was probaly the saddest time. Doing that moment of silence and just having his number on my cheek made me feel good inside. like i knew that he was around, and always will be. he is so wonderful and im still missing him to this day. i never will forget the way he would laugh at me or just smile and ill have to smile cas he had the prettiest of them all. im just always gonna REMEMBER casey. to matthew: don't comment and be ignorant, you don't even know what caused the wreck. speed wasn't even a factor in this. casey obeyed laws, and was in fact wearing his seat belt, and going the speed limit, people can wreck from other factors genius. so if you don't know the situation, don't be rude.
