It's a deal that's tough to pass up: order a free pizza and get a free fire alarm inspection.

The Harrisonburg Fire Department partnered with Cici's Pizza to deliver free pizzas Wednesday evening to anyone willing to get a fire alarm inspection.

"This is a very innovated opportunity to meet with the public and test their smoke alarms. Smoke alarms are one of the key elements to fire protection. Studies have shown that you have a significantly higher possibility of surviving a home fire if you have a smoke alarm in your house," says Capt. Arthur Miller, Harrisonburg Fire Department.

This is the sixth year for the event. In four hours Wednesday, the fire department delivered to 445 homes, breaking last year's record of 420.
