The NewBiz list of current clients may be limited, but for the one business that is taking advantage of this umbrella opportunity it has been a great experience.

Janet Dob is four months into running her own organic bagel factor. Dob operates Agnes' Very Very from a business incubator facility on the site of the NewBiz Virginia.

"For anyone starting a business it is very important to have a support group around them," said Dob "and the NewBiz Virginia helps to provide that support group."

NewBiz board of directors and mentors for the start up companies are business owners themselves or others that may have knowledge of all the ins and outs of running a successful business.

"They help you with space, a mentor group, any questions that may come up about your business, they help you brainstorm about your business and they help you find solutions to any problems that come up," said Dob.

Janet says the benefits of being at the incubator are great, she's been able to overcome a lot of financial and cosmetic obstacles.

"Small business are usually under capitalize," said Dob. "We didn't have to buy a copy or fax machines and we didn't have to renovate a space to meet the requirements for a men and women restroom."

At this time Janet has no employees because of equipment problems, but she has plans to hire some in the next few weeks. She says things have not been easy, but it's going well.
