A grand jury will hear charges against a man accused of escaping from a Virginia prison who eluded capture for nearly 27 years.

Prosecutors say Richard Boucher was serving a ten-year sentence for robbery when he and another inmate escaped from a prison in Chesapeake on October 24, 1982.

The FBI arrested the 57-year-old Boucher in May in northern Georgia, where he had been living with his wife, Debbie.

Boucher is charged with assaulting a guard and escape. Chesapeake General District Court Judge David L. Williams sent the felony charges to the grand jury Wednesday.

Boucher is being held at a state prison in Waverly.

Debbie Boucher is charged in Georgia with hindering the apprehension of a criminal.

A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
