In the past 24 hours, the Rocky Top fire has burned 400 acres and it's no longer contained within the park.
It's now expanded to almost 1,800 acres. Monday night's winds and low humidity pushed the fire over containment lines in two places. In one place, onto private land.
But, not structures are in danger even though firefighters are now building containment lines closer to the park's boundaries.
"Fire's always something to be concerned about yes, as far as fire coming into people's property outside of the park we're doing out best right now to keep that from happening," Mara Meisel says.
Right now the fire is about half a mile from the closest house. And it's about 40 percent contained. They're hoping Tuesday night’s winds will blow the fire back into the park.
